Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a key member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care to patients recovering from brain injury, spinal cord injury, and post-operative complex orthopedic procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in activities and initiatives aimed at promoting, maintaining, and improving quality care and safety for patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Work collaboratively with the patient and family to facilitate collaborative planning and decision-making.
  • Provide ongoing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and guidelines in pediatric nursing.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
  • Minimum three years of LPN experience, preferably in pediatrics and orthopedic nursing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with complex families and patients.
  • Strong health assessment skills and recent orthopedic nursing experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in child development.
