The Trade Compliance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our import compliance programs. This position works closely with the trade compliance team to identify areas of risk, develop and implement control and compliance frameworks, and provide advisory mentorship and training.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain procedures to streamline the trade compliance assessment process.
- Oversee the company's Free Trade Agreement (FTA) management program.
- Manage vendor and sourcing compliance screening.
- Support special projects related to import and export activities.
- Support customs compliance projects, including trade verifications, self-corrections, and duty recovery.
- Provide consultation and advice to senior management on areas of risk.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in trade compliance.
- Knowledge of Canada and U.S. customs fundamentals, including classification, country of origin, valuation, and FTAs.
- Experience with trade management software and internet-based trade compliance programs.
- Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills, as well as problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple diverse projects simultaneously.
- Results-oriented with a strong determination to succeed.
- Positive attitude with a commitment to learning and a desire for personal and professional growth.
- Strong knowledge of Google applications, Microsoft Office, email, and internet software applications.
