The Category Manager role is a senior position within the Procurement and Supply Chain department, reporting to the Senior Manager of IT and HR Services, Procurement. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of HR technology, organizational development, employee benefits, recruitment, and contingent workforce management, establishing themselves as an expert in this category.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive category strategies informed by historical spend data, supplier insights, market trends, and industry innovations.
  • Take ownership of the integrated spend category strategy to drive transformation and achieve savings targets.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for key business stakeholders within the category.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to business partners and the Supplier Management team.
  • Influence alignment and buy-in on category strategies across the organization.
  • Foster relationships with key suppliers to enhance collaboration.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive total cost of ownership reductions.
  • Leverage Rogers' scale to standardize processes and achieve cost efficiencies.
  • Ensure procurement initiatives align with budget expectations and track savings against targets.
  • Analyze spend data to uncover sourcing and cost reduction opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of procuring HR Services and Technology, including employee programs, training, recruitment, and contingent workforce management.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in telecommunications, media, cable, or a similar industry.
  • Understanding of market trends and their impact on cost structures.
  • Experience in IT services procurement from an HR perspective.
  • A university degree in business, commerce, or economics; an MBA is a plus.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and business acumen to establish credibility with stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex topics to executive leaders.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Resilience in facing challenges with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Collaborative approach with team members and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Project.
