Position Overview: The Risk Management Division plays a crucial role in fostering the sustainable advancement of SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA through its profound expertise in risk evaluation and management strategies.

Key Responsibilities: The department is tasked with the independent analysis, assessment, management, and monitoring of risk-related activities, aiming to achieve optimal outcomes in collaboration with the first line of defense.

This role encompasses oversight of various risk categories including enterprise, strategic, credit, market, liquidity, operational, and model risks associated with corporate and investment banking operations.

The selected risk professional will engage actively in pivotal credit risk and counterparty credit risk initiatives within the designated region.

Portfolio Management and Governance: This position will allow the successful candidate to directly participate in the analysis of a diverse portfolio comprising corporate and financial institution clients.

Responsibilities include identifying risk drivers, managing transversal projects related to risk oversight, and leading relevant governance committees.

Collaboration with colleagues from other Credit Risk departments, such as the Credit Assessment Group and the Asset Restructuring & Recovery Management team, will be essential.

The ideal candidate should possess a robust understanding of credit risk methodologies and frameworks, assist in organizing inputs from various experts, and contribute to enhancing risk oversight.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities and knowledge of credit and counterparty credit risk metrics, credit portfolio analysis, and market risk controls and processes are required.

The candidate should develop comprehensive knowledge of key risk metrics and reporting, effectively communicating significant findings within the risk department, to senior management, and external regulators.

Reporting and Analysis: Responsibilities include producing and contributing to key reports for Senior Management and Regulators, analyzing and monitoring portfolio quality using essential Credit and Counterparty Credit Risk metrics.

Effective communication regarding the evolution of the portfolio's risk profile, identifying emerging risks, and assessing cost of risk requirements is crucial.

Engagement in ad hoc portfolio analysis utilizing appropriate risk metrics focused on specific sectors or risk factors influenced by economic and geopolitical conditions is expected.

Data Management: The role involves performing necessary controls to enhance portfolio analysis quality, collaborating with the Data Management Office to assess credit risk data quality, and addressing various data quality issues.

Active participation in the implementation of new regulatory frameworks is required.

Committee Coordination: As the main coordinator for Credit Risk on regulatory reviews and internal audits, the candidate will prepare and manage materials for several committees, ensuring effective communication with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities include proposing annual risk appetite for credit risk, monitoring compliance, and reporting on risk assessment dashboards.

Governance and Digitalization: The candidate will contribute to the annual Credit Trigger Back Testing exercise, manage provisioning workflows, and promote collaboration across various business lines.

Ensuring the accuracy and currency of Credit Risk policies and procedures is vital, alongside enhancing processes through automation and the use of advanced technologies.

Project Management: The role involves leading or participating in defined projects or initiatives, enhancing Credit Risk applications and systems, and implementing change management strategies.

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Statistics, or a related quantitative field is required. Proficiency in SQL and Python, along with strong knowledge of PowerBi, is essential. Familiarity with credit risk analysis methodologies is advantageous.

Language Proficiency: Effective communication in English, both written and verbal, is necessary for collaboration with colleagues and partners.
