Vice President of Operations

Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic Vice President of Operations to oversee the Customer Service, Logistics, and Operations teams at our client in Burlington. As a senior leader, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, driving process improvement, and collaborating with senior management to create business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Team Management: Manage the Customer Service, Logistics, and Operations departments by providing support and guidance to managers and associates.
- Mentorship and Performance: Mentor, evaluate, and drive performance of the Operations team, resolving issues with inefficiency proactively.
- Business Development: Collaborate with senior management to create business development initiatives that align with company goals and objectives for growth.
- Financial Management: Oversee company budget for projects, operational headcount, and corporate spending; controlling costs and reviewing budget proposals.
- Industry Knowledge: Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management, including software, hardware, and systems to ensure that the company remains competitive and adheres to industry standards.
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Collaborate with HR to recruit and onboard new operations employees, manage performance, address and resolve issues, and review employee compensation, while expanding training and development programs.
- Leadership: Work alongside the company President and Vice President to address company and departmental needs, attract new clients, grow the business, and manage operations.
- Meetings and Communication: Organize and lead meetings with executives and department heads to review management plans and shape company directives.
- Company Representation: Take company responsibility when necessary - in the absence of the President or VP.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Logistics or another industry-related field; MBA preferred but not required.
- Experience: 10+ years of industry experience - focus on North American third-party logistics. 3-5 years of senior management experience required.
- Skills: Transportation Management Software (TMS) experience required. Advanced skill in MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
