AutoCanada is seeking a Licensed Automotive Service Technician (310S) to join our dynamic team.
As a key member of our bustling Service Center, the ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, proficiency in computer systems, and a readiness to address customer and retail vehicle concerns. Your ability to communicate effectively with both customers and colleagues will be vital as you provide comprehensive documentation and explanations regarding vehicle diagnostics, suggested repairs, and completed services, ensuring we maintain the transparent and reliable service our clients expect.
Position Overview:
In the role of Automotive Service Technician (310S) , you will significantly impact the customer experience by executing diagnostic assessments to identify vehicle maintenance needs and delivering precise repair recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks as detailed on repair orders, ensuring efficiency and adherence to dealership and OEM standards. Regularly liaise with Parts and Service Advisors to effectively coordinate repairs, manage production timelines, and enhance customer communication. Conduct thorough multi-point inspections to provide appropriate repair recommendations, ensuring the safety and reliability of vehicles prior to their return to customers. Document all work performed on vehicles through detailed narratives in the associated repair orders, in line with OEM standards, to ensure warranty work payment is processed by the manufacturer. Maintain a personal inventory of essential automotive technician tools not typically provided by the Service department. Stay updated on factory technical bulletins and participate in required factory-sponsored training sessions. Deliver an outstanding repair experience to foster customer loyalty and enhance departmental revenue.Qualifications:
A provincially recognized Journeyman Automotive Mechanic Certificate (310S), either completed or in progress. Red Seal Certification is considered an asset. Completion of a relevant post-secondary program or training courses. Professional demeanor coupled with a strong work ethic. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. Proficiency in operating electronic diagnostic tools. Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. High integrity and strong work ethic. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required. Legal authorization to work in Canada is necessary.Work Environment:
Indoor and outdoor shop settings with exposure to varying temperatures, requiring physical stamina. Regular exposure to fumes, dust, oil, grease, and noise from equipment operation. Operation of machinery and motorized equipment, including vehicles with both automatic and manual transmissions. Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Capability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds. Dexterity to manipulate hands and fingers for operating specialized tools and equipment. Reach overhead and horizontally to position materials and equipment as needed. Occasionally bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, turn, and twist to access various vehicle components for repair. Occasionally carry, push, or pull boxes and other repair equipment to facilitate repairs. Clear vision at varying distances to observe diagnostic instruments and manuals. Strong verbal, auditory, and written communication skills to convey information effectively.Benefits:
