The Pharmacy Technician functions in alignment with the competency standards and scope of practice as defined by the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia, adhering to organizational policies, procedures, and specific protocols.
Responsibilities include processing medication orders that have been clinically assessed for therapeutic suitability and authorized by a Pharmacist. You will receive verbal and written prescriptions from healthcare providers, ensuring that all prescriptions are complete and valid. Your role will involve preparing, processing, and compounding medications.
It is essential to verify the accuracy and completeness of dispensed medications prepared by yourself or colleagues by checking order entries and conducting final checks on dispensed prescriptions. You will also manage prescriptions for temporary inpatient absences and facilitate the transfer of prescriptions to and from other pharmacies. Additionally, you will enter and confirm the accuracy of drug and personal health information in the Pharmacy information system while maintaining inventory levels and performing assigned clerical tasks.
Compensation:
The wage is set at $34.18/hour.
