Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of dispensed prescriptions, processing medication orders, and maintaining stock levels.
Key Responsibilities- Process medication orders that are clinically reviewed for therapeutic appropriateness and approved by a Pharmacist.
- Receive and verify verbal and non-verbal prescriptions from practitioners.
- Prepare, process, and compound prescriptions.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of dispensed prescriptions prepared by self or others.
- Process prescriptions for temporary inpatient leaves of absence.
- Transfer prescriptions to and receive prescriptions from other pharmacies.
- Enter and ensure the accuracy and completeness of drug and personal health information in the Pharmacy information system.
- Maintain stock levels and perform clerical duties as assigned.
- Grade 12 and graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current practicing registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to keyboard.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
