Job Summary

Northern Health Authority is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of dispensed prescriptions. Your attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment will make you an asset to our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Process medication orders that have been clinically reviewed and approved by a Pharmacist.
• Receive and verify verbal and non-verbal prescriptions from practitioners, ensuring they are complete and authentic.
• Prepare, process, and compound prescriptions as required.
• Verify the accuracy and completeness of dispensed prescriptions prepared by yourself or others.
• Process prescriptions for temporary inpatient leaves of absence and transfer prescriptions to and from other pharmacies.
• Enter and ensure the accuracy and completeness of drug and personal health information in the Pharmacy information system.
• Maintain stock levels and perform clerical duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 and graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Current practicing registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to keyboard.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
