Ideal candidates should possess:

  • Experience with Cat and/or Komatsu/Deere/Hitachi Equipment
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Journeyman or Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician certification - Off Road and/or On Road
  • Strong Problem Solving Skills
  • Valid driver's license – abstract required
  • Enjoyment of teamwork
  • 2 to 3 years of experience working on Heavy Duty Off Road Equipment
  • Willingness to obtain valid Off Road equipment ticket if not in possession of Red Seal or AB Off Road ticket; must be prepared to challenge AB exam and/or Red Seal within 6 months
  • Own tooling required, except for larger shop tools

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing repairs on off-road heavy trucks, heavy construction machinery, diesel, and diesel-electric mining equipment
  • Conducting repairs on bulldozers, graders, dump trucks, and excavators
  • Troubleshooting and inspecting equipment to identify faults and malfunctions, determining the extent of repairs needed, adjusting equipment, and repairing or replacing defective components
  • Instructing apprentices and maintaining maintenance reports and documentation

Compensation Structure:

  • Competitive industry wages, above average
  • $44/hr to $53/hr – Based on Experience
  • Overtime at time and a half after 8 hours/day
  • Fieldwork includes paid travel time, accommodations, and living out allowances
  • This is a permanent full-time position

Additional Requirements:

  • Pre-employment Medical examination
  • Some job sites may require passing a drug screening

Work Schedule:

  • Guaranteed minimum of 44 hours/week – Overtime available and compensated at time and a half after 8 hours/day
  • Standard work schedule - Monday to Friday. Saturday work may be required based on workload
