Position Overview: We are in search of a skilled Software Design Engineer in Test III to elevate our quality assurance efforts. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in validating our enterprise applications, which utilize C# .NET frameworks and are hosted on Service Fabric. A strong grasp of various database systems and storage solutions, including SQL Server, RavenDb, and Azure Storage, is essential, along with familiarity with messaging services such as Service Bus and Event Hubs. A keen interest in leveraging data science or analytics to assess quality within extensive data sets is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in story refinement to ensure comprehensive testing considerations are established.
  • Collaborate effectively with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Developers.
  • Actively participate in retrospective meetings to advocate for process enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain test cases, executing both structured and exploratory testing with user experience as a priority.
  • Formulate and implement thorough testing strategies for microservices-based applications.
  • Automate high-priority test cases before the conclusion of the sprint.
  • Review code submissions to uphold quality standards.
  • Oversee CI/CD Azure pipelines and releases for both new and existing projects.
  • Monitor Azure releases for regression issues and environmental challenges.
  • Manage defect tracking and resolution processes efficiently.
  • Maintain quality and bug reports throughout all release phases.
  • Document project responsibilities and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing platforms.
  • Stay informed about emerging testing tools and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with the internal SDET community to refine best practices continuously.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET).
  • At least 2 years of experience with Selenium WebDriver and Grid.
  • Proficient in testing web APIs through code with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Strong C# programming skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with TestRail is advantageous.
  • Proven expertise in QA for microservices architecture and distributed systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Capability to write SQL queries for data validation purposes.
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases, particularly RavenDb.
  • Understanding of testing methodologies and associated tools.
  • Ability to identify errors and evaluate risks within applications and processes.
  • Comfortable working with Visual Studio 2019+ and Git.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines is essential.
  • Comprehension of ROI and risk related to ad-hoc testing, test automation, and feature coverage.
  • A passion for design, development, and quality assurance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with microservice technologies, SQL, NoSQL, and Blob Storage.
  • Knowledge of messaging services like Azure Service Bus and Event Hubs.
  • Familiarity with JMeter.
  • Experience with Python is a plus.
  • Interest in data science and/or analytics is beneficial.
