Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our manufacturing site in Halifax. As a key member of our Maintenance Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the continuous running of our production process by eliminating downtime through safe and logical approaches to fault finding and maintenance of equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through safe and logical approaches to fault finding and maintenance of equipment.
  • Work on various types of equipment including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems.
  • Carry out a range of planned and reactive engineering activities on-site.
  • Have a good mechanical working knowledge with electrical experience.
  • Time served/apprentice trained in a similar position ideally with Electrical qualifications (C&G 2320 P1 & P2, ONC, NVQ 3 or equivalent).
  • A thorough understanding of the IEE 18th edition.
  • Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • Practical hands-on approach.
  • Have significant experience, understanding, and knowledge of the maintenance of a variety of plant, ideally in Wet Press, cropping and mixing plants.
  • Experience in electrical fault finding, defect rectification, and routine maintenance activities.
  • Previous PLC experience (Allen Bradley) would be a distinct advantage.
  • Ability to interrogate/understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, dealing with operatives and Team leaders from both maintenance and production.
