About the Role

Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Mental Health and Substance Use team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping individuals with mental health and substance use challenges to achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Client Assessment and Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' functional capacity, occupational performance, and environmental supports to identify areas for improvement and develop personalized plans to address their needs.
  2. Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans, and provide education and support to help clients achieve their goals.
  3. Treatment and Intervention: Provide individual and group treatment sessions to help clients develop the skills and strategies they need to manage their mental health and substance use challenges, and achieve their occupational goals.
  4. Program Development and Evaluation: Contribute to the development and evaluation of rehabilitation programs and services, and identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
  5. Leadership and Education: Provide leadership and education to colleagues and other stakeholders on best practices in occupational therapy and mental health and substance use rehabilitation.
Requirements
  • Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC)
  • Two (2) years' recent related experience working in a community mental health and/or substance use setting
  • Valid B.C. Class V Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business purposes
