About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Orthotics Clinical Resident to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our clinical health team, you will provide orthotic care to inpatients and outpatients, working collaboratively with the inter-professional healthcare team to achieve patient goals.

The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in orthotics and prosthetics, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care. You will work under the supervision of a certified clinician, participating in the evaluation, treatment planning, and implementation of orthoses to enhance patient mobility and physical function.

This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates from an accredited education program in orthotics and prosthetics to gain hands-on experience and work towards their licensing exam. If you are a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for orthotics, we encourage you to apply.

About You
  • Two-year diploma from an OPC-approved Prosthetic/Orthotic Clinical Program
  • Registration with OPC for residency as appropriate
  • Experience working with patients with physical/cognitive impairments
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • High level of manual dexterity and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements and infection control procedures
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours and Compensation

This is a long-assignment, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The successful candidate will be compensated at a rate of $32.09 hourly.

Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
