About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a clinical resident to participate in the Residency Program in Orthotics. This program provides the graduate the opportunity to work towards the 3450 clinical hours required to challenge their licensing exam. The clinical resident will work collaboratively with the inter-professional health care team and others to assist the patient in achieving their orthotic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide orthotic care to both inpatients and outpatients
  • Support the evaluation, treatment planning, individualized design, custom fabrication, implementation and maintenance of orthoses
  • Work collaboratively with the inter-professional health care team and others

Requirements

  • Two year diploma from an Orthotics Prosthetics Canada approved Prosthetic/Orthotic Clinical Program
  • Registration with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada for residency
  • Experience working with patients with physical/cognitive impairments
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and have organizational skills to complete assigned work and manage changing caseloads with support

What We Offer

  • $30.08 - $32.09 hourly
  • Long assignment, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Approximately 24 months
