About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IAM Solution Architecture and Engineering Director to join our organization at Scotiabank. As the Director, you will be responsible for providing strategic management of our global IAM solutions, ensuring the utmost security and efficiency in access control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direction and oversight to our IAM solution architects and engineers to deliver complex solutions against our IAM roadmap.
  • Ensure the resiliency and software currency of our IAM systems.
  • Oversee the architecture and design of identity solutions for the enterprise in a large and distributed environment.
  • Deliver complex projects providing global, innovative solutions that improve IAM.
  • Manage IT design, development, and support teams to support the enablement of IAM capabilities.
  • Assess and select IAM technologies and integration partners.
  • Manage relationships, stakeholders, and influence at all levels up to senior executives.
  • Perform management tasks including incident response and escalations, vendor and contract management, infrastructure management, and service resiliency.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience architecting, developing, integrating, implementing, and managing complex solutions and large IT teams.
  • Proven experience in the IAM industry and expert understanding of IAM technologies, including Virtual Directory Services, Single Sign-On (SSO), Entra ID, Active Directory Federated Services, and Active Directory platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of modern IAM protocols (such as SAML 2.0, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SCIM) and frameworks (such as FIDO 2.0).
  • Experience with DevOps pipelines and tools, and strong knowledge of SDLC (define, design, build, test, and deploy) practices.
  • Experience with program delivery, including planning and estimation.
  • Excellent people leadership and communication skills to deliver strong business-focused presentations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Expertise in cybersecurity best practices and understanding of compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO/IEC 27001 and 17799).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Agile Delivery experience.
  • Certification(s) (CISSP, CISM, CCSP).
