Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions Coordinator

The Registrar's Office at Dalhousie University is a dynamic and multi-faceted operation that plays a crucial role in the academic experience of our students. As a key member of our team, the successful candidate will participate in programs related to recruiting and admitting undergraduate students to our institution.
Key Responsibilities- Manage Campus Tours Program: Oversee all aspects of Dalhousie's campus tour program, continually evaluating its success within the context of student recruitment. Identify new and emerging trends and opportunities, as well as areas for improvement.
- Provide Excellent Customer Service: Present a professional, welcoming first-impression to all prospective students, parents, guidance counselors, agents, and others interacting with the Welcome Centre and Recruitment Office.
- Coordinate Campus Visit Requests: Manage daily campus visit requests, providing prospective visitors with detailed information, scheduling assistance, and prompt and professional follow-up and instructions.
- Participate in Market Recruitment Strategies: Participate in market recruitment strategies, including school visits, career/college fairs, alumni events, campus tours, and parent information sessions.
- Advise on Admission Requirements: Advise on admission requirements for undergraduate programs and maintain a working knowledge of requirements for graduate and professional programs.
- Education: Undergraduate degree in a related field, plus approximately three years' related experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Experience: Considerable experience with event planning, one-on-one communications, and public speaking.
- Skills: Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work independently. Proficiency with common computer applications included within the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Physical Demands: A valid Canadian driver's license and ability to lift and handle boxes up to 20 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Knowledge of Education Systems: Knowledge of Canadian and international education systems.
- Student Information Systems: Working knowledge of student information systems such as Banner.
The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate proficiency in Dalhousie's core and leadership competencies, particularly:
