McIntosh Perry, a leading firm in the engineering and design sector, is seeking a talented Junior CAD Technician to join our dynamic team.

As part of our growing organization, you will play a crucial role in supporting the creation and modification of technical drawings and plans for various oil and gas projects.

About the Role

In this position, you will collaborate closely with senior technicians and engineers to produce accurate and detailed drawings that meet project specifications and industry standards. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced environment and contribute to projects renowned for their technical excellence and sustainability.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare essential engineering documents such as Plot Plans, PFDs, P&IDs, piping plans and details, isometrics, material takeoffs, and tie-in details according to engineering specifications and client requirements.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in producing and updating P&IDs.
  • Maintain high drafting quality control standards and effectively collaborate with other disciplines.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements in software technology, and internal processes.
  • Contribute to special projects, such as developing internal drafting standards, as assigned.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A technical degree or diploma from a recognized educational institution.
  • Experience working in an engineering firm within the oil and gas or energy-related industries is highly advantageous.
  • Site and/or shop experience in the oil and gas industry is considered an asset.
  • The ability to travel to field locations may be required on occasion.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a demanding environment. A willingness to work a flexible schedule is essential.
  • Must be a self-starter with the capacity to take direction from more experienced designers.
