CAD Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior CAD Technician to join our engineering/design team at McIntosh Perry. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the creation and modification of technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design software.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed technical drawings and plans, including plot plans, PFDs, P&IDs, piping plans, and isometrics, in accordance with engineering specifications and client requirements.
- Demonstrate proficiency in producing and updating P&IDs, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain high-quality drafting standards, collaborating with senior technicians and engineers to ensure consistency and adherence to project specifications.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements in software, and internal processes, applying this knowledge to improve drafting efficiency and quality.
- Contribute to special projects, such as developing internal drafting standards, as assigned.
- Technical degree or diploma from a recognized educational institution.
- Experience with an engineering firm in the oil and gas or energy-related industries is considered an asset.
- Site and/or shop experience in the oil and gas industry is considered an asset.
- Ability to travel to field locations may be required from time to time.
- Strong analytical skills and comfortable working in a demanding environment with a willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to take direction from more experienced designers.
