Position Overview:

As a Junior CAD Technician, you will be an integral member of our engineering and design team, assisting in the development and revision of technical drawings and plans utilizing computer-aided design software. Your role will involve working closely with senior technicians and engineers to create precise and detailed drawings that comply with project specifications and standards. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for professional growth within the CAD design field.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Technical degree or diploma from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in an engineering firm within the oil and gas or energy sectors is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with site and/or shop environments in the oil and gas industry is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to field locations as necessary.
  • Strong analytical abilities and adept at managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with flexibility.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to follow guidance from senior designers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Plot Plans, PFDs, P&IDs, piping plans and details, isometrics, material takeoffs, and tie-in details in accordance with engineering specifications and client needs under the supervision of senior designers.
  • Exhibit proficiency in creating and updating P&IDs.
  • Ensure drafting quality control and collaborate with other disciplines.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, software advancements, and internal processes.
  • Participate in special projects, such as the development of internal drafting standards as assigned.
