About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Transformation Lead to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of digital transformation initiatives, driving business value, and ensuring the successful implementation of Agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize digital transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and implement Agile frameworks, processes, and tools to drive efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project roadmaps, identify dependencies, and mitigate risks.
  • Coach and mentor teams on Agile principles, practices, and tools, ensuring a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, to ensure team alignment and progress.
  • Work closely with Product Owners to ensure effective product backlog management, story grooming, and prioritization.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure alignment of budgets, spend, and forecasts, and support budget tracking and variance mitigation efforts.
  • Coordinate operation readiness activities with associated teams, ensuring seamless delivery of digital solutions.
  • Oversee and coordinate software release activities, ensuring timely and successful deployment.
  • Participate in decision-making processes, defining product backlogs, and aligning with overall product architecture and technical design.
  • Communicate regularly with other Scrum teams to ensure tactical story alignment and identify dependencies between teams.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in leading digital transformation initiatives, with a strong understanding of Agile methodologies and principles.
  • Excellent leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with project management tools, such as JIRA and Confluence, and a strong understanding of software development processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Lean principles, eliminating waste, and focusing on value delivery.
  • Experience with Agile metrics, such as velocity, stories completed, and project status.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes and procedures, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Experience with System Design and the ability to work independently to create pragmatic solutions to technical problems.
  • Working experience in digital solutions teams in the finance industry is an asset.
  • Hands-on experience leading release management activities for successful delivery of product launches.
  • Strong understanding of Wealth/Brokerage business is an asset.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • 5 years of Scrum Master experience and/or leading large cross-functional/cross-regional teams on major organizational projects.
