Job Title: Encampment and Community Outreach Worker

Job Summary:

Pacifica Housing is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Encampment and Community Outreach Worker to join our team. As a key member of our Community Services team, you will work collaboratively with individuals experiencing homelessness, providing outreach, assessment, placement, and advocacy services to support their journey towards stable housing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide guidance, crisis intervention, and referral services to individuals experiencing homelessness.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community members, landlords, and property owners to facilitate housing placement and retention.
  • Manage program-specific private market subsidies and collaborate with Pacifica Housing's property management services to ensure effective housing site management.
  • Provide interim case management services during the assessment and placement process.
  • Participate in team meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Social Work or Psychology, or Counselling, Mental Health, or Addictions Worker qualifications.
  • Minimum one year of recent related experience.
  • Conflict resolution/crisis prevention training and experience required.
