Job Title: Encampment and Community Outreach Worker

Pacifica Housing is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Encampment and Community Outreach Worker. This role is a critical part of our efforts to provide safe and affordable housing to individuals and families in need.

Job Summary:

The Encampment and Community Outreach Worker will work collaboratively with our team to provide outreach, assessment, placement, and advocacy services to individuals experiencing homelessness. This includes connecting clients to community services, stable housing, and other essential resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide guidance, crisis intervention, and referral services to clients.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community members, agencies, landlords, and clients to facilitate housing placement and retention.
  • Manage program-specific private market subsidies and collaborate with Pacifica Housing's property management services to ensure effective housing solutions.
  • Perform administrative duties, including tracking client housing activities, compiling statistical reports, and maintaining the BC Housing Database.
  • Participate in professional development functions, including workshops, seminars, and conferences, to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Social Work or Psychology, or related field, with a minimum of one year of recent related experience.
  • Conflict resolution/crisis prevention training and experience required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the impacts of addiction, mental health, homelessness, and poverty.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an integrated community team.
