Job Overview at RT Medical

Licensed Practical Nurses deliver care to individuals requiring assistance due to aging, injury, surgery, or illness. Please note that this role is for agency staffing support and will be focused at a Long-Term Care facility. Living accommodations are not provided at this time.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to develop a comprehensive care plan based on patient assessments.
  • Assessing the effectiveness of treatment plans and making necessary adjustments in consultation with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Advocating for patients by safeguarding and promoting their rights.
  • Traveling within your designated region to provide care in various settings, including in-home, clinics, retirement homes, or schools.
  • Performing additional clinical duties as required.
  • Experience in wound care, IV medication administration, catheter care, compression therapy, and ostomy care is considered advantageous.
  • Delegating tasks as needed within your professional scope.
  • This position will be primarily at a long-term care facility.
Qualifications
  • Diploma from an accredited LPN program or equivalent.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing with the regulatory body.
  • Experience as a visiting nurse or community nurse is considered beneficial.
  • Physical capability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel, and reach; ability to lift 50lbs (23 kg) independently; ability to assist clients with mobility; ability to reposition clients in bed.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certification.
  • Updated immunization records, including a recent tuberculosis test.
  • Clear criminal background and vulnerable sector checks are mandatory upon hiring.
  • Ability to interact with others in a compassionate, respectful, and courteous manner.
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and crisis-resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid G2/G driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are essential. This role requires daily travel exceeding one hour, thus a vehicle is mandatory. Candidates without a vehicle will not be considered.
  • Proficiency in using mobile applications.
Additional Requirements
  • Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the last six months .
  • Submission of proof of three COVID vaccinations .
  • TB test completed within 6 months to a year .
  • Immunization record.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Mask Fit testing.
