Social Services Coordinator

At the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB), we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Professional Social Worker to join our team.
About the RoleThis is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with diverse populations and make a meaningful impact in the community. As a Professional Social Worker, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating social programs that promote the well-being and resilience of individuals and families.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement social programs that address the unique needs of the community, including Cree culture and social/health issues.
- Provide counseling and guidance services to clients, including individual and group sessions.
- Conduct assessments and analyses to identify client needs and develop effective interventions.
- Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to ensure program effectiveness and sustainability.
- Provide training and coaching to staff and community members on social work practices and Cree culture.
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and membership in good standing with the Ordre professionnel des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec (OTSTCFQ).
- Two years of relevant experience in social work, with a strong understanding of Cree culture and social/health issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Fluency in English, with Cree or French an asset.
