Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Field Specialist to join our Infrastructure team, based out of Toronto, ON. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading Field Specialists in a broad range of construction engineering work across multiple disciplines of the project. This includes providing engineering assistance to superintendents, directing assigned personnel in meeting cost and time schedules, verifying materials, equipment, and quality, and ensuring results meet design requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the Parent Company works at Corktown Station Park Station, representing the Delivery Partner on site.
  • Maintain high-quality daily records of observations and other information gathered, including site personnel, materials, equipment, work completed, and issues arising.
  • Review deliverables and other submittals prepared by the Parent Company related to construction or construction support for Corktown Station Park Station, identifying non-conformances or other items that require addressing.
  • Ensure the Parent Company works at Corktown Station Park Station are in accordance with the contract in terms of health, safety, environment, quality, schedule, and cost performance, identifying and reporting any non-conformances.
  • Report progress, identify risks, highlight emerging issues, and escalate to the Project Manager for Corktown Station Park Station.
  • Provide input to and participate in plans and actions to address non-conformances, avoid or mitigate risks, and mitigate emerging issues.
  • Engage discipline leads for subject matter expertise in health & safety, environment, quality, contracts, project controls, and interfaces, implementing direction provided.
  • Build relationships with the Parent Company site team.
  • Validate progress reports and other data prepared by the Delivery Partner and Parent Company against own observations and records.
Requirements:
  • Relevant bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Previously held construction supervision role(s) with responsibility for construction of infrastructure of similar scope, size, and complexity to a deep underground station on a metro project.
  • Experience of working on infrastructure mega-projects, preferably rail projects in urban areas.
  • Good relationship building and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Fluent in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety, and Health (ES&H).
