General Summary

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, enhancement, and ongoing optimization of the operational environment, ensuring the infrastructure's reliability, performance, and security. This role encompasses monitoring and maintaining the operating environments, addressing incidents and issues, planning for scalability, deploying new technologies, and designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and testing PC/server operating systems, networks, and associated hardware. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting user-reported issues, supporting web access and telephony services, and managing the acquisition, replacement, and decommissioning of relevant equipment, software, and services.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering technical support and conducting maintenance activities
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining network hardware, including routers and switches
  • Monitoring service performance and reporting, focusing on risk management and compliance
  • Investigating new solutions, enhancements, and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Managing the acquisition, provisioning, and decommissioning of relevant equipment, software, and services
  • Documenting change requests formally and overseeing the change management process
  • Collaborating with external service providers
  • Building and nurturing a trusting relationship with customers and internal teams, acting as their advocate

Required Skills and Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems (server and client) and familiarity with Linux and other mainstream operating systems
  • Fundamental understanding of networking principles
  • Advanced expertise in infrastructure service management and diagnostic tools
  • Proficient in endpoint security management tools and processes
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure asset lifecycle management
  • Extensive experience in designing local and wide area networks, handling projects of varying complexity
  • Strong grasp of IP, MPLS, WAN, Ethernet, and wireless networking technologies
  • Experience with Sonic Operating System on Dell or similar hardware
  • Background in data center design and security principles
  • Enthusiasm for implementing emerging technologies and industry standards
  • Familiarity with Cisco and Nexus is highly desirable
  • Experience in an enterprise data center environment is essential
  • Cloud migration experience is advantageous

Physical Requirements

  • Duties are performed in a standard office environment.
  • Responsibilities may require prolonged periods of sitting and focused visual concentration on computer screens or detailed data.
  • Frequent repetitive manual tasks (e.g., data entry, using a mouse, calculator) are expected.

Experience and Education

  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience, particularly in designing local and wide area networks.
  • 2 to 4 years in a technical analyst or network specialist role, particularly with Cisco equipment and software
  • Experience with Sonic Operating System on Dell or similar hardware
  • Proficiency in IP networks and Cisco Networking Products

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Educational requirements may vary by region.
