Position Summary

Great Canadian Entertainment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to oversee and manage our comprehensive network infrastructure. This role demands a deep understanding of LAN, WAN, WLAN technologies, and security protocols. The ideal candidate will possess the expertise to design, implement, maintain, and monitor all aspects of our network environment, ensuring seamless operation and optimal performance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with the Network Architect to develop innovative network solutions that align with Great Canadian Entertainment's strategic objectives and business requirements.
  • Assume full responsibility for the performance, availability, and security of assigned network systems, ensuring they meet the highest industry standards.
  • Analyze new network requests from various departments, working closely with IT partners, vendors, and stakeholders to understand their communication needs. Develop comprehensive solutions and recommendations for LAN/WAN and wireless infrastructure enhancements.
  • Oversee the physical network cabling infrastructure, ensuring adherence to established standards and maintaining a healthy cabling environment.
  • Design, implement, and provide ongoing support for our enterprise-grade LAN/WAN and wireless infrastructures.
  • Continuously monitor network performance metrics (availability, utilization, throughput, latency) and conduct regular vulnerability testing to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the business services supported by assigned systems. Engage in proactive communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment of priorities and address their evolving needs.
  • Demonstrate technical leadership by guiding technical teams, mentoring staff members, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Create comprehensive documentation, processes, and automation strategies to enhance operational efficiency and knowledge sharing within the IT team.
  • Configure firewalls, load balancers, proxies, and other network equipment. Provision network services to meet the diverse requirements of our organization.
  • Install, configure, and maintain a wide range of network hardware, including Cisco routers/switches, Palo Alto Firewalls, Meraki controllers/APs, and Aruba Wireless Controllers/APs.
  • Provide expert technical support at the second and third levels, resolving complex network issues promptly and effectively.
  • Manage and maintain a suite of network security tools, including firewalls, anti-virus software, and intrusion detection systems. Ensure these tools are configured optimally to protect our network infrastructure from threats.
  • Evaluate, plan, implement, upgrade, secure, monitor, and maintain assigned systems. Conduct thorough testing strategies to ensure successful implementation of infrastructure changes.
  • Develop comprehensive change requests that include detailed implementation plans, communication protocols, testing procedures, and rollback strategies.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and propose innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our network operations.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of maintenance contracts, SLAs, and warranty information for all network assets.
  • Establish and maintain robust IT processes that support efficient network administration and asset management.
  • Adhere to established IT policies and procedures. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with various operational departments, ensuring seamless collaboration and information sharing.
  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues, vendors, and stakeholders.
