Patient Meal Service Coordinator

Position Overview:
In this role, you will operate under the general guidance of a Supervisor, ensuring adherence to established protocols for managing patient information pertinent to meal service delivery. Your responsibilities will include preparing financial documentation, processing dietary preferences, allergies, and meal counts, as well as managing menus and tray tickets. You will engage in effective communication with various departments regarding patient meals, snacks, and nourishment supplies. Additional duties may be assigned, which could involve tasks in the production area as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate patient meal information and preferences.
- Prepare and manage financial reports related to meal services.
- Communicate efficiently with other departments to ensure seamless meal service.
- Complete additional tasks as required, including production area responsibilities.
Physical Requirements:
This position may necessitate the ability to bend, lift, push, and pull items weighing up to 20lbs. You should be prepared to remain on your feet for extended periods, up to 3 hours at a time.
Essential Skills:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, maintaining speed and accuracy while working under pressure. Critical thinking skills and initiative are essential, along with effective communication abilities in English with patients, customers, co-workers, and other departments. A collaborative spirit is vital, as you will be part of a professional team dedicated to providing exceptional patient and family-centered care.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in administrative assistance or a related field is preferred. Experience with basic mathematical skills for accurate invoice and credit reconciliation, as well as inventory management, is also beneficial. A minimum of 1 year of experience in a dietary office setting is required.
