Salary Range: $71,720.18

Position Overview
As a Compensation Analyst, you will be responsible for calculating the average earnings basis to ensure timely processing of lost time workers' benefit payments, utilizing relevant systems.

In your role as a payment expert within a provincial team, you will review, analyze, and respond to inquiries from workplace parties and WSIB staff, recommending solutions while adhering to applicable legislation, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify the accuracy of benefit payment authorizations and gather necessary information for earnings basis determination
  • Collaborate with adjudication staff to identify appropriate actions regarding payments
  • Provide detailed explanations of payments in memo format
  • Consult with management on complex payment issues
  • Identify and monitor cases requiring recalculation
  • Calculate, prorate, and ensure funds are allocated to the correct payees
  • Create online payment transactions and adjustments, documenting required information
  • Offer specialized technical advice and assistance by:
  • Providing guidance on payment matters related to policies and procedures
  • Responding to inquiries from adjudication staff regarding the correct application of benefit payment policies
  • Addressing employer and worker inquiries about the correct application of benefit payment policies in relevant cases
  • Documenting payment histories, providing benefit/payment status, and offering detailed written explanations in compliance with privacy guidelines
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum one year of experience in financial or mathematical concepts
  • Strong interpersonal and judgment skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload while delivering high-quality customer service
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills to assess and interpret policy and complex calculations
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office
