About Wright Canada Holdings Ltd

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Broadcast Spray Mixer and Support Specialist to join our team in a remote setting. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for mixing herbicides for application in accordance with regulations and label directions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mixing herbicides for application in accordance with regulations and label directions
  • Participating in our safety system, attending tailgate meetings, and completing trainings as applicable
  • Filling sprayer tanks with water and chemicals, in accordance with regulations and label directions
  • Maintaining spray packs and equipment
  • Monitoring and recording weather conditions
  • Maintaining inventory for chemicals and other herbicide application accessories
  • Overseeing the cleanliness, upkeep, and servicing of machinery to ensure operating efficiency, using water, gasoline, lubricants, and/or hand tools
  • Starting motors and engaging machinery, such as sprayer agitators and pumps or portable spray equipment
  • Building and maintaining good working relationships with clients
  • Driving, inspecting, and maintaining large/heavy trucks with trailers
  • Operating, inspecting, and maintaining Argos and other off-road vehicles
  • Working with helicopters
  • Following the direction of the Supervisor
  • Ensuring that all tasks assigned are completed in a timely and professional manner
  • Performing payroll and data entry tasks
  • Keeping records of work completed
  • Waiting for ideal weather conditions
  • Working in assigned areas over a large geographic region, with frequent travel expected

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience working in herbicide application or managing crews in a forestry context
  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to handle stressful situations, as well as multitasking
  • Wearing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience driving and maintaining large vehicles
  • Negative drug screen result(s)
  • Valid first-aid certification (can train)
  • Competency with Avenza PDF Maps, Excel, and mobile apps in general
  • Map reading skills
  • Physical fitness and the ability to carry 50+ pounds
  • Ability to walk rapidly over debris on uneven terrain
  • The ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions
  • Decision-making skills
  • Willingness to work, enjoy, and live in a remote setting
  • Preparation for work in all weather conditions
  • Commitment to the end of August at a minimum
  • A good work ethic, a positive attitude, and willingness to contribute
