Job Summary:

Wright Canada Holdings Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Broadcast Crew Leader to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising the broadcast treatment of all vegetation within designated areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of broadcast treatment crews to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks.
  • Communicate departmental policies, plans, and procedures to team members and ensure compliance.
  • Conduct safety training and inspections to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Document and maintain records of hazard assessments, inspections, and team meetings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely and professional completion of tasks with minimal disruption to client operations.
  • Train and coach team members to improve performance and provide feedback as needed.
  • Organize logistics and navigate resource roads to access remote worksites.
  • Operate and maintain large/heavy trucks with trailers and off-road vehicles.
  • Work with helicopters and other equipment to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Maintain and repair spray packs and equipment.
  • Manage inventory of chemicals and herbicide application accessories.
  • Assist with filling sprayer tanks with water and chemicals.
  • Identify and mark site boundaries and riparian areas.
  • Perform payroll and data entry tasks.
  • Monitor and record weather conditions.
  • Follow project manager's direction and work closely with the team to achieve goals.

Requirements:

  • Experience managing crews in a forestry context and/or experience working with herbicide application.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to handle stressful situations and multitask.
  • Valid driver's license and experience driving and maintaining large vehicles.
  • Negative drug screen result(s) and valid first-aid certification.
  • Competency with Avenza PDF Maps, Excel, and mobile apps.
  • Map reading skills and ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions.
  • Decision-making skills and willingness to work in a remote setting.
  • Ability to walk rapidly over uneven terrain and carry 50+ pounds.
  • Good work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to contribute to the team.
