Our fleet comprises over 30,500 specialized tank and freight cars, and we operate 27 repair facilities catering to various sectors including petroleum, petrochemicals, plastics, chemicals, fertilizers, and food.
With the aim of becoming the North American leader in providing value-driven railcar repair solutions, our success is propelled by our innovative and skilled workforce. Procor is currently in search of a Repair Supervisor for our Regina, Saskatchewan facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and maintain a productive work environment by embodying the organization's cultural values and mission.
- Utilize and instruct the Daily Management System Tier 1 and Tier 2 processes to identify challenges and opportunities for lean tool application, while facilitating team actions.
- Ensure the team comprehends Plant KPIs and their implications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to all direct reports.
- Guarantee that safety, quality, and production objectives are achieved within the department(s).
- Delegate tasks within their department(s) to align with production schedules.
- Assess employee performance, including those on probation.
- Verify that employees possess necessary certifications.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and customer standards in all work performed.
- Consistently and equitably enforce contractual obligations, shop regulations, and policies.
- Conduct daily Toolbox Meetings to keep the workforce informed.
- Deliver precise reporting on labor and material supplemental repairs.
- Adhere to Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) stipulations.
- Ensure employees receive training and required certifications, including A11 and PPE safety certifications.
- Lead Toolbox meetings for the workforce.
- Manage supply expenditures and minimize waste.
- Conduct performance evaluations at 30, 60, and 90 days for employees.
- Perform hold point inspections.
- Oversee and communicate employee attendance and coaching regarding points.
- Assign labor schedules within their department.
- Ensure daily maintenance is performed by operators.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Familiarity with railcar repair techniques, as well as AAR and DOT regulations, is advantageous.
- Knowledge of relevant railcar standards and regulations from AAR, CGSB, DOT, BOE, FRA, and the Canadian TDG Act is beneficial.
- Experience in railcar repair is preferred.
- Prior experience in managing a railcar repair facility is a plus.
- Proficient in a Windows environment, with familiarity in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated safety performance record.
- Experience in union relations is desirable.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership capabilities.
- Effective relationship-building and collaboration skills.
- Positive and motivating demeanor.
- Ability to achieve results consistently.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- A valid Driver's license is required.
- Must be able to work in environments with continuous exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including dust, fumes, and noise. Physical requirements include climbing, stooping, bending, working in confined spaces, and carrying hand and power tools, as well as passing a company physical including pulmonary function and drug screening.
