This Volunteer Placement is designed to enhance the capacity of organizations in institutional development and contribute to national poverty alleviation and climate initiatives.

Role Overview

As a Strategic Advisor for Business Development and Knowledge Management, you will collaborate with the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) in Ethiopia. Your primary focus will be to assist the GGGI Ethiopia office in areas such as business growth, knowledge sharing, communication, and report preparation. Additionally, you will conduct training sessions for project personnel to strengthen organizational capabilities through the creation of strategic communication documents and the transfer of expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Compile and analyze lessons learned and outcomes from previous and ongoing initiatives to identify funding prospects across diverse sectors and donor landscapes, aiding the country team in proposal crafting.
  2. Assist in the formulation of project reports by leveraging insights gained from green growth initiatives undertaken by the country office and its partners.
  3. Devise knowledge management strategies, tools, and methodologies focused on climate action for the GGGI Ethiopia office.
  4. Ensure quality control and brand consistency in communications and publications produced by the country office.
  5. Develop effective communication strategies to boost the visibility of GGGI Ethiopia.
  6. Facilitate training for project leaders and technical teams on communication practices, knowledge product creation, and knowledge management techniques.
Essential Qualifications:

A Master's degree in business management, international relations, development economics, international development, knowledge management, or a related discipline.

Required Experience:
  1. At least seven years of relevant experience in an international development organization focusing on business development and knowledge management.
  2. Proven track record in developing funding proposals.
  3. Experience collaborating with international development organizations and funding bodies.
  4. Ability to forge effective partnerships.
  5. Experience in knowledge sharing and capacity building.
  6. Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
  7. Background in knowledge management and the development of knowledge products.
