About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Officer to join our team at Hunter Express Ltd. as a key member of our risk management department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Budget Planning and Control: Develop and implement effective budget planning and control strategies to ensure optimal resource allocation and minimize costs.
  • Training and Development: Provide comprehensive training and development programs for employers, employees, and the general public to enhance their knowledge and skills in occupational health and safety.
  • Policy Development and Implementation: Establish and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Workplace Inspections: Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify and mitigate potential safety and health hazards.
  • Recruitment and Selection: Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and select top talent for the organization.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate workplace accidents and illnesses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Contract Management: Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Health and Safety Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety plans to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards through regular audits and assessments.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present regular reports to stakeholders on health and safety performance and progress.
  • Employee Engagement: Foster a culture of health and safety awareness and engagement among employees through regular communication and training.
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Safety Officer who possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Computer and Technology Skills: Proficiency in MS Access, MS Outlook, MS Windows, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines, and a large workload.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent oral and written communication skills, flexibility, judgment, and a team player attitude.
