Job Summary

The Hamilton Regional Indian Centre is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Drug and Alcohol Program Coordinator. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring the development, implementation, and stability of the Indigenous Drug and Alcohol program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement program plans to meet local area drug and alcohol program promotion, prevention, and treatment needs.
  • Collaborate with community members and service providers to ensure effective program delivery.
  • Provide case management services to clients.
  • Conduct data collection and evaluation to inform program development and improvement.
  • Maintain knowledge of Indigenous culture and history, with a focus on the impacts of trauma.
Requirements
  • 2-year College diploma in Indigenous Studies, Social Service work, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 2-years' experience working in the field of addictions.
  • Experience working in an Indigenous organization.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and other database applications.
  • First Aid/CPR and non-violent crisis intervention certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Valid driver's licence with a clear driving record.
  • Clean Criminal Record and Judicial Matters (CPIC) check with Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS) within 30 days of hiring date.
