Student Ambassador

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Student Ambassador to join our team at Douglas College. As a Student Ambassador, you will play a vital role in supporting prospective and new international students in their transition to life in Canada, BC, and the Douglas College community.
Key Responsibilities- Assist prospective students with navigating the college website and provide admission-related information via various social media channels and in-person.
- Support new international students by socially connecting with them, providing information and resources about Douglas College and the surrounding community, and promoting participation in college-wide events.
- Work with the ambassador program to field questions from prospective students via various social media platforms.
- Assist Admission Coordinators with various administrative duties such as database data entry, filing, compiling reports, and other projects as needed.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver events for student leaders.
- Support Recruitment & Admission Coordinator in preparing and delivering online and in-person recruitment events such as information sessions, campus tours, webinars, student fairs, and high school visits.
- Maintain a GPA of 2.3 or above.
- Have a positive, outgoing attitude.
- Be able to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Have experience with social norms and values of more than one culture.
- Be able to work effectively in a team-based environment.
- Have experience using graphic design programs such as Canva.
- Have experience using pages, groups, messaging, and events on social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
International students must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible to work as a Student Ambassador:
- Be enrolled in full-time studies at Douglas College throughout the academic year.
- Have a valid Study Permit that has the notation – "May accept employment on or off campus if meeting eligibility criteria as per R186 (F), (V) or (W). Must cease working if no longer meeting these criteria."
Qualified Douglas College students meeting the above criteria will be given first preference over students of other qualifying institutions.
