Position Summary:

The Safety and Health Director plays a crucial role within our Senior Leadership Team, tasked with the responsibility of establishing and executing advanced safety and health management systems. This position focuses on fostering a robust safety culture and enhancing overall performance in environmental, safety, and health (ES&H) practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement strategic safety and health programs that comply with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to ensure alignment of safety initiatives with project objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with supply chain partners to promote proactive safety measures and risk management.
  • Analyze safety performance data to develop tailored solutions that drive improvement.
  • Organize and lead safety workshops and meetings to engage all stakeholders.
  • Support the establishment of key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress towards safety goals.
  • Advise project teams on safety requirements that may influence project execution.
  • Work closely with legal and compliance teams to address any safety-related issues.
Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a strong background in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly within the Canadian context. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field is required, along with extensive experience in safety and health management.

  • Proven ability to devise innovative solutions to complex safety challenges.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with project management teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian safety regulations and best practices in construction.
