About the Position
Commercial Cleaning Services Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Director to join our leadership team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing our health and safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with company and client safety requirements, as well as government legislative regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular hazard analysis, risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits to identify and mitigate potential safety concerns.
- Develop and implement effective safety controls and work practices to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on health and safety matters to our operational teams and leadership.
- Manage our health and safety training program, including developing educational resources and conducting training sessions.
- Oversee our Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) claims management program and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with our Joint Health and Safety Committee to identify and address health and safety concerns.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new regulations related to health and safety.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a similar industry.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
- Working knowledge of provincial and federal health and safety regulations, programs, and standards.
- JHSC Certification is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex health and safety information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Flexibility to travel to client locations and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new software and systems.
