Medical Devices Reprocessing Technician - Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital
This role is essential for the decontamination, reprocessing, and sterilization of medical equipment, supplies, and instruments.
Key Responsibilities
Efficiently managing a diverse workload in a dynamic environment. Proactively addressing and resolving challenges in a constructive and respectful manner. Fostering a safe and inclusive atmosphere for all by complying with patient and staff safety regulations.Required Qualifications
Completion of Secondary School or equivalent. Successful graduation from a Sterile Processing Technician Program (or equivalent) at an accredited institution. A minimum of two years' experience handling complex surgical instruments and operating room tools. Familiarity with Low Temperature Sterilization methods. Proficient computer skills are necessary. A solid understanding of Medical Terminology is required.Additional Skills and Attributes
Proven expertise in cleaning, decontamination, inspection, testing, packaging, and sterilization of instruments, as well as high-level disinfection of endoscopes. Knowledgeable in the cleaning and sterilization processes for respiratory equipment. Strong understanding of Infection Control practices and Aseptic principles. Capability to perform the essential functions of the position. Empathetic communication skills in interactions with colleagues and patients. Dedication to delivering an outstanding experience for both staff and clients in a challenging healthcare setting.Preferred Qualifications
At least two years of experience in Central Sterile Processing or related fields is preferred. *This position is represented by OPSEU
