Job Summary

Mackenzie Health is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective distribution of medications to patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform medication distribution tasks, utilizing automated dispensing cabinets and central pharmacy automation.
  • Conduct medication history with patients to facilitate medication reconciliation.
  • Prepare unit dose medications and compounded medications in accordance with NAPRA standards.
  • Direct patient and staff queries to relevant areas.
  • Issue and deliver narcotics/controlled medications to patient care areas.
  • Maintain the department's medication inventory control system and appropriate records.
  • Assist Clinical Pharmacists as required.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Pharmacy Technician diploma from an accredited program (or an equivalent combination of education and experience if licensed through OCP bridging program).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Unit dose and sterile compounding experience.
  • Previous related experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy automation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
