Job Title: Field Heavy Equipment Technician

Brandt is seeking a skilled Field Heavy Equipment Technician to join our Sudbury Construction and Forestry branch in the North Bay area.

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical experience, with a focus on heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and diagnose the working condition of heavy duty equipment, and perform repairs and maintenance as needed.
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently, and operate related instruments, hand and power tools, and computer systems.
  • Accurately document all machine information, actions taken, and time taken on work orders.
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
  • Locate and order parts from parts personnel, and road test equipment as required.
Requirements:
  • Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Must be able to meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor control.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment.
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade.
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence.
