Job Title: Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic Apprentice

McDowell Equipment is seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic Apprentice to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing heavy-duty equipment, including trucks and attachments.

Work Environment

Our work environment is non-smoking and can be noisy at times. You will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of physical activity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
  • Welding experience
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks
  • Service attachments and working tools
  • Verify and repair emission control systems
Requirements
  • Agricultural Equipment Technician Red Seal Certificate
  • Driver's License (Class 3 or D)
  • Truck and Coach Service Licence (310T)
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Level three apprenticeship training
  • Level four apprenticeship training
  • Level five apprenticeship training
