Job Title: Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic Apprentice

We are seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic Apprentice to join our team at McDowell Equipment. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing heavy-duty equipment, including trucks and attachments.

Work Environment

Our work environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, requiring attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination. You will be working in a non-smoking environment with occasional exposure to noise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks and attachments
  • Service and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Verify and repair emission control systems
Requirements
  • Agricultural Equipment Technician Red Seal Certificate
  • Driver's License (Class 3 or D)
  • Truck and Coach Service Licence (310T)
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Level three apprenticeship training
  • Level four apprenticeship training
  • Level five apprenticeship training
Preferred Qualifications
  • Diesel engine repair specialization
  • Powered equipment repair specialization
  • Mechanical maintenance and repair specialization
