Position Overview

As the Field Automation Sales Engineer, you will be based in Sudbury and will take charge of Rockwell Automation Controllers and HMI systems within the Northern Ontario territory. Reporting directly to the Regional Automation Manager, your role will involve representing the Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) product line, delivering comprehensive technical and application support to both internal and external clients while ensuring sales targets are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic business plan focused on sales growth.
  • Execute commercial initiatives as part of the annual business strategy.
  • Manage a robust opportunity pipeline to meet sales goals.
  • Identify and cultivate new business prospects.
  • Collaborate with Westburne and Rockwell Automation sales teams on account strategies.
  • Serve as a pre-sales technical advisor, offering tailored solutions to clients.
  • Provide post-sales technical assistance to enhance customer confidence and expertise.
  • Conduct technical presentations and product briefings.
  • Participate in supplier training sessions (Canada/US) to maintain advanced product knowledge. Regular travel to the US for training is a requirement for this position.
  • Lead product launches, seminars, and promotional events.
  • Implement strategies to counter competition and increase market share using available marketing resources.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Automation Technology from a recognized institution.
  • Have at least 2 years of experience in automation or technical sales/support.
  • Understand sales methodologies such as Strategic Selling and Customer-Centric Selling.
  • Exhibit strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Have a technical grasp of electrical circuits; familiarity with industrial automation is advantageous.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Rockwell Automation Controllers, HMIs, and associated software.
  • Be capable of interpreting single-line electrical schematics accurately.
  • Understand industrial networking and Ethernet I/P.
  • A valid driver's license and passport are required for this role.
