Aerial Fire Suppression Pilot Opportunity

About the Role:

Forest Protection Limited is seeking skilled and experienced pilots to operate air tankers in accordance with our Company Operations Manual and Standard Operating Procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate assigned air tankers in accordance with FPL's Company Operations Manual and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Adhere to instructions issued by officers of the Department of Natural Resources on fire suppression or instructions from the base manager when assigned to aerial application projects
  • Report all items requiring maintenance on the aircraft as soon as possible
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the aircraft at all times

Working Conditions:

Successful candidates will work in a team environment during long hours of standby throughout the forest fire season. Assigned pilots can expect to fly between 70 and 130 hours per season depending on the Fire Weather Index levels and any unforeseen circumstances. Re-positioning to other bases of operation may be required throughout the season.

Requirements:

  • Commercial Pilot License-Fixed wing
  • Having a valid IFR is an asset
  • Preference will be given to candidates having experience with turbine engines and low altitude operations like aerial application or fire suppression
  • Have a valid driver's license for travel within and outside the province
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English
  • Have a valid passport
