About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Professional to join our team at The Good Samaritan Society. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of food service to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, adhering to our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring that our kitchen is well-stocked and organized.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Inspect kitchens and food service areas, maintaining a clean and safe environment for our residents and staff.
  • Menu Planning and Coordination: Work with our dietary team to plan and coordinate menus, ensuring that our residents' dietary needs are met.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and perform repetitive tasks
  • Personal Qualities: Strong attention to detail, fast-paced environment, and excellent communication skills
