Part-Time Bilingual Educator Needed

Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. is on the lookout for dedicated part-time educators to join our vibrant learning community. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy engaging with students, imparting knowledge about language, and are committed to fostering academic growth.

As a tutor-educator at Oxford Learning, you will benefit from pre-prepared lesson plans, allowing you to focus on delivering engaging instruction. Comprehensive training in our unique educational approach will be provided.

Position Requirements

All educators at Oxford Learning are expected to work during after-school and evening hours, committing to at least two days a week, Monday through Thursday (3:00 PM - 8:00 PM), along with Saturday mornings (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM). A commitment through the academic term is preferred, with opportunities to continue during the summer. Reliability is essential, as students will depend on your support.

This position requires in-person attendance. Applicants must be able to travel to the designated location. Vulnerable sector screening is a prerequisite.

We encourage applications from candidates who meet the following criteria:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Fourth-year university students with significant tutoring experience may be considered
  • Teaching certification is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of the current Kindergarten to Grade 8 curriculum

Experience:

  • Prior experience in teaching or tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 8 level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to manage and support multiple students simultaneously

Responsibilities (Position Details)

In this role, you will work closely with students as an Interactive Coach, with responsibilities including:

  • Instructing up to three students at varying levels
  • Delivering lessons both online and in-person
  • Adhering to the methodologies and philosophies of Oxford Learning
  • Documenting post-lesson notes
  • Providing daily updates on student progress
  • Maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor at all times

Salary: $18 - $20 per hour
