Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. is on the lookout for part-time educators to join our dynamic learning environment. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about teaching and dedicated to fostering language skills in students.

As a tutor at Oxford Learning, you will not need to prepare lesson plans in advance, as all instructional materials are provided. Comprehensive training in our unique educational approach will be provided to all successful candidates.

Position Requirements

All educators at Oxford Learning are expected to work during after-school hours, at least twice a week, Monday through Thursday (3:00 PM - 8:00 PM) and Saturday mornings (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM). A commitment through the academic term is preferred, with opportunities to continue into the summer. Reliability is essential, as students will benefit from your consistent support.

This position requires in-person attendance. Candidates must be able to travel to the designated location. Background checks are mandatory.

We encourage applications from individuals who meet the following criteria:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Fourth-year university students with significant tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of the current curriculum for Kindergarten to Grade 8

Experience:

  • Experience in teaching or tutoring at the Kindergarten to Grade 8 level or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to manage multiple students simultaneously

Responsibilities (Position Overview)

In this role, you will engage directly with students as an Interactive Coach, with responsibilities including:

  • Instructing up to three students at varying levels
  • Delivering lessons both online and in-person
  • Adhering to the Oxford Learning methodologies
  • Documenting post-lesson notes
  • Providing daily updates on student progress
  • Maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor at all times
