Part-Time Bilingual Educator Needed

Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. is on the lookout for dedicated part-time educators to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy engaging with students, imparting knowledge of language intricacies, and are committed to fostering skill development.

As a tutor-educator at Oxford Learning, you will benefit from a structured approach, as all lesson plans are provided. Comprehensive training in our unique educational philosophy and methodologies will be offered to all successful candidates.

Position Requirements

All educators at Oxford Learning are expected to work during after-school and evening hours, committing to at least two shifts per week, Monday through Thursday (3:00 PM - 8:00 PM) and Saturday mornings (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM). A commitment through the academic term is preferred, with opportunities to continue during the summer. Reliability is essential, as your students will depend on your presence.

This is an in-person role, and candidates must be able to travel to the designated location. Vulnerable sector screening is a prerequisite.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Fourth-year university students with significant tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification is an advantage
  • Familiarity with the current Kindergarten to Grade 8 curriculum

Experience:

  • Experience in teaching or tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 8 (or equivalent) level
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to facilitate student understanding
  • Capability to manage multiple students simultaneously

Responsibilities (Position Details)

In this role, you will engage directly with students as an Interactive Coach, with responsibilities including:

  • Instructing up to three students at varying levels
  • Utilizing both online and in-person teaching methods
  • Adhering to the educational philosophies and methodologies of Oxford Learning
  • Documenting post-lesson reflections
  • Providing daily updates on student progress
  • Maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor at all times
